The Burton Band
Oklahoma
The “Burton Band” has been entertaining in the Oklahoma City area, for almost 20 years. They can play all types of music, including Rhythm & Blues, Country & Western, Easy Listening and Jazz. They have been the house band at the Waterford for the last seven years, attesting to not only their versatility, but the quality of their performances.
In addition to performing with the Burton Band, Barbara and Charles Burton have performed with many top name entertainers, including Nancy Wilson, Delia Reese and Vic Damone.
The group consists of Charles Burton of Guitar, Barbara Burton on Vocals, Tray Burton on Drums, John Harris on Piano and Gary Clardy on Bass.
Charles Burton once lead the funk band 'Messengers Incorporated' in the late 60s/early seventies. One of their singles (Soulful Proclamation) was re-released a few years ago on the compilation 'Midwest Funk' by Jazzman Records out of London. Truly a funk legend hidden in Oklahoma.
