Disappointed |

She has a pretty good voice, BUT ALL OF HER SONGS SOUND THE SAME. After about 4 or 5 songs, all slow old-time blues, I couldn\'t tell the difference. Boring. There were no uptempo dance songs. She doesn\'t play solos or improvise well. We left after the first set, disappointed. But if you like slow, old stuff that sounds same song after song ... |

Such a white girl |

When this girl launches into Skip James or Robert Johnson, it’s as if she was born a few decades too late in a state a touch too far away from Mississippi.
She’s opening for me on Friday, May 25 at Galileo. As happy as I am that she’s agreed to do it, I’m a little worried, too. I hope she doesn’t blow me out of the goddamn room.

The sound of her voice |

Listening to Sunshine sing old-style blues sets me back in my chair, paints a smile on my face as I listen to the timbre of her voice send the music through me. When I watch her I see easy laughter at the pure enjoyment of entertaining. Her rendition of old songs, or singing her own (my favorites) makes me hum along. |

Sunshine delivers her music with a deep sense of the blues. Always refreshing, she plays and sings with such a degree of comfort that she makes it look easy. Do yourself a favor and get out to see this lady. |
