Thank you for visiting the website of Debbie Henning. Born outside of St. Louis, Debbie began playing guitar at age 8 by sneaking around to play her older brother’s guitar. At 14 she was given a 12 string by her father for “bringing up her grades.” She played only this guitar for the next 8 years, across 38 states. Surprisingly, Debbie did not write a song of her own until age 31. She was spurred to do so at the offer of radio play.
Since that time she has written dozens of tunes and achieved 7 #1 hits at mp3.com Her enviromentally charged blues song “Ash Tuesday “ won first place in the Women of mp3 song contest. Debbie always takes the opportunity to remind her audience to “Keep your ugly butt in the car. Use the ashtray!!!”
Debbie continues to perform and record and is often joined by her daughter, Trish. An accomplished cellist at just 19 years old, along with a talented singer and guitarist, Trish is currently attending UCO. Edmond, Oklahoma
