Seldom has one individual had greater impact and influence on a local music “scene” as Danny White has had in Oklahoma City.
From his “garage band” beginnings in the 60’s, to the present, no one has been more involved or devoted. “Paid his dues” has never applied more.
As lead singer for the “Psychos”, appearing on “The Scene”, a local weekly television show hosted by Ronnie Kay, Danny set the stage and the standard for everyone else to follow. After recording “Mickey’s Monkey”, a local number one hit, in 1968, he went on to found local flagship bands “Oklahoma”, “Downpour”, the “Mudsharks”…..and “Struka Gruv”. In the interim, toss in stints as club owner, radio “DJ”, “True Blue” commercial voice, and you get the idea that the guy has entertained more “troops” than Bob Hope.
